Save Enugu group has claimed that the Governor is seriously ill and presently receiving treatment at the Wellington Humane Hospital Swiss Cottage London. The nature of his sickness was not fully disclosed.
According to a letter written by a group of eminent Enugu people and addressed to the Deputy Governor, Chime is down with critical ailment which the State has been hiding. They therefore demanded among other things that the Deputy Governor Sunday Onyebuchi address the people of the state with a view to declaring the position of the Governor’s state of health. Sources say the Enugu governor is not in good health, but could communicate and still govern. Speculations have beclouded the type of Chime’s illness, with Sahara reporters calling it Heart disease another source calling it Liver cirrhosis and other more cynical ones calling it HIV/AIDS.
