Mr. Governor Obi Sir,
Enough of this nonsense. If you are looking for an appointment please go on your own power, but do not drag the South- Easterners into it.
South-Easterners used to be "mumu" (for you), but now we are wise. We know when we have been played for fools. My dear,You are three years too late.
President Jonathan came to Onitsha in 2011 and promised to build another bridge for us (the South Easterners)within four years. This promise extended also to himself and his people -fellow South-Southerners, who will also use the second Niger Bridge. President Jonathanfailed to disclose that we (the South-East) will pay for the bridge. Is thatfair?, and you supported him over the people that elected you to serve them. Whose interest are you protecting?
From this same Government, weheard that the Enugu Airport is supposed to be an International airport. Wejumped for joy at this scarce news. 3 years after the same pronouncement, It is open knowledge that Akanu Ibiam International Airport is far below the standardof what the modern world can calls an airport. An International Airport that isyet to land a plane from another country!. Akanu Ibiam InternationalAirport was also supposed to have a Helicopter Division of the NigerianAirforce attached to it, giving the South-East some military presence and jobs that are highly needed in the area, but where is the Helicopter Division? Guess.
Somewhere in a Federal Government Gazetted paper collecting dust. Whereis the money allocated to build that Garrison?, My guess is that it is also insome Generals’ pocket, or in some Politician’s bank account generatinginterest. Jonathan's Government has every authority to ask questions about theHelicopter Division and Garrison. Have they? Why is Jonathan not doingsomething tangible regarding the above that will benefit the South-East who'svote he is enjoying at Aso Rock.
Lets talk about roads, Mr.Governor Obi. I will put it to you that all the Federal roads in the south-eastare death traps. Do you not see them?, or have you turned a blind eye to thoseroads because of what you hope to get from Mr. President Jonathan, after yourtenure as a Governor is over?. Also on Transportation, What are we doing aboutthe Railroads?. Nigeria is supposed to have a network of Railroads that willservice all the people of Nigeria, for economic empowerment to the rural andurban areas. Well the Westerners and Northerners, even the Mid-Westerners areenjoying what was meant to serve the whole Nigeria – In these areas, the Fed.Govt. is fully refurbishing the old rail roads, while at the same time buildingnew ones. My question then, Gov.Peter Obi is, Do we have any railroad in the South- East that is operational?Or, is Jonathan’s Government discussing any new railroad linking Port Harcourt to Aba, Port Harcourt to Onitsha, Onitsha to Aba, Port Harcourt to Abuja,Onitsha to Lagos or Makurdi via Enugu.
Continuing on GeneralInfrastructure in South-East, can the Government of Goodluck Jonathan boast ofone or any structures, infrastructure or industry in the South-East area withemployment of about 5,000 people or more? Mr. Governor Peter Obi whichSouth-East do you mean when you said that President Goodluck Jonathan administration has been responsive to the needs of the people of South-East region?
I cannot conclude thiswithout referencing the APGA contribution to Jonathan’s election and occupancyof Aso Rock. I want to remind you that during the time of Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe, the Owelle of Onitsha, The Political alliance that the Great Zik had withNPN brought back the beef from the ruling party. The NPP and the South-Eastfrom the Accords.
Presently, We in the APGA Party havefollowed you sheepishly. We, as urged by you endorsed President Jonathan as ourcandidate for President and voted massively for him, giving him the vote thathe needed to become the President. What did APGA get from that alliance thatyou brokered? We are yet to see any thing good from that deal. All we got wasempty promises or should I say that you and your friend fooled us. If that isthe case, then shame on you. According to the Chinese proverb, If you fool us again, then, the shame will be on us. President Jonathan does not merit our vote, he has failed us in theSouth-East.
You are jumping up and down thatJonathan helped you to bury our own prominent people. They in turn, are celebratingthat another thorn in their neck is gone, because to them any good South-Easterneris the dead one. We in the South-East are not helped by the funding of thesefunerals. As you left these funerals, As the pomp and pageantry wound down andthe celebrants left the venue, Most of the attendees wondered, “is that all there is?” What does this mean for us, our future, our children? They stillwondered how the funding of funerals translated to tangible progress and much needed jobs that are highly needed in the South-East.
We cannot continue this way. A fresh outlook is in order.

NIGER BRIDGE PROMISE APPEARS NOW TO BE A POLITICAL GIMMICK BY "EBELE" & PETER
LILIACFIRE TELLS THE HOT AND BITTER NEWS JUST AS IT IS !!
Permit me to start by acknowledging that constructive criticism is patriotic.
ReplyDeleteKpajie is so right to observe all the ills that confront the South Easterners. Truth be told, the South Easterners continue to loose from the Nigerian federal arrangement in all quarters. Hardly is there any Nigerian federal structure that the South Easterners can proudly reckon with.
The only miss in the Kpajie write-up is misplacing the target to someone (Peter Obi) who does not have any direct control over all the benefits that elude the South Easterners as enumerated.
Peter Obi is only the Governor of Anambra State. He does not control disbursement of federal funds neither does he allocate federal funds or have the administrative capacity to control federal service delivery. Yes, as a State governor and the Chairman of South Eastern governor's forum, Peter Obi can cry and demand as much as possible and I personally trust that he may have tried, but the Nigerian President and South Eastern representatives in both federal houses are directly answerable to federal infrastructural development in the South east. Except for the miss-direction of this criticism, it is worthy to be supported and developed.
Let’s keep such progressive criticism going but not to use it to victimize unconcerned office holders.
