IG to re open case on N250 million found in Gov Obi’s convoy

I  never  took the peoples Money , I only invested it for the people...

All Progressives Congress (APC) has challenged the Inspector General of Police (IG) Abubakar , Mohamamed Abubakar to publish the police report on the N250 million found in Governor Peter Obi’s convoy.

In June 2009, eagle-eyed policemen who acted on a tip off, intercepted Governor Obi convoy in front of his Next International office in Apapa Lagos and found ten suitcases containing N250 million, accompanied by one of the governor’s aides.

Although the police was yet to conclude investigation into the money laundering case, the Anambra State House of Assembly in what looked like a cover-up, passed a resolution, exonerating Governor Obi of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) from the money haulage.

But, in a statement on Tuesday, APC Zonal Publicity Secretary for the South-East, Osita Okechukwu, said the IG should publish the police report without further delay.

According to Okechukwu, it has become imperative to publish the report because any vote for Obiano, the APGA candidate in the November 2 Anambra governorship polls, could translate to a vote for continuation of the monthly haulage of N250 million from the state.

“We want the IG to let us know where the investigation stopped. Anambra people deserve to know the about the money found in Governor Obi’s convoy, especially now that they are going to polls to decide who becomes the next governor of the state after Governor Obi.

“The fact that Governor Obi is projecting Obiano, a man who has sufficient interest in Fidelity Bank like himself, makes our fears more worrisome. The people in Anambra should not be allowed to vote for the continuous looting of their resources” Okechukwu said.

He also regretted that for seven good years, Governor Obi never bought any traditional ruler a vehicle, but now the election is three weeks away, he has been going about presenting jeeps to traditional rulers and town union presidents in a desperate bid to install his business partner.

Commenting on alleged propaganda against the APC candidate, Senator Chris Nigige, Okechukwu noted that they have nothing against Ngige except mudane and tribal issues, which tries to depict the desperation of Governor Obi.
